To fix a Active Desktop Recovery script error

This issue can occur if the Desktop.htt Active Desktop file is damaged.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Start Windows Explorer.
2. On the View menu, click Folder Options.
3. In the Folder Options dialog box, on the View tab, under Advanced settings, click Show all files.
4. Click to clear the Hide file extensions for known file types check box, click Apply, and then click OK.
5. Quit Windows Explorer.
6. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, point to Active Desktop, and then click to clear the View as Web Page check box.
7. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
8. In the Find: All Files dialog box, type Desktop.htt in the Named box.
9. In the Look in list, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.
10. In the Name list, right-click Desktop.htt, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu that appears.
11. Rename Desktop.htt to Desktop.old, and then press ENTER.

You will receive the following message:
Are you sure you want to rename the system file 'Desktop.htt' to
'Desktop.old'?

12. Click Yes, and then close the Find dialog box.
13. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
14. In Control Panel, double-click Display.
15. In the Display Properties dialog box, on the Background tab, under Wallpaper, click any background picture other than that which is currently selected. For example, if the current background selection is None, click Bubbles.
16. Click Apply, and then click OK.
17. Restart your computer.
18. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, point to Active Desktop, and then click View as Web Page.
19. Follow steps 13 through 16 to change your background picture to the one that you want.
